Paint Removal??

so basicly the previous owner had painted the rear spoiler black to match the car. Thats fine BUT he also painted the 3rd brake. In the day light you can bairly see it, and at night it looks dim. On top of that he installed after market tail lamps which i think are shitty for letting people now your stopping. SO my question is, how can i remove the paint over the 3rd brake and save the plastic since i dont want to buy a new spoiler.

Brake clean will not help me here lol. It's a thick coat and cleared over. I was hopeing i wouldn't have to sand it lol thanks for the input tho. And i was worried about buffing since it is a little area but I guess if i mask it and take my time it should work out

well hope you figure it out. When I painted my spoiler I taped off the brake light section - too bad that person didn't and now you are stuck fixing it
