Well, I might have a job lined up to be an instructor at Ft. Sam, which is good because I was born and raised in San Antonio. I have been to Iraq and Afghanistan for more than 3 years now, so hopefully this works out. Anyway, I look foward to meeting some of you and getting the 4G out on the streets. I graduated from MAC in 00' in case anyone is wondering.

sweet, fort sam is where its at, adding like 10k jobs there over the next couple years, hope it works out for you and you can join our lil group of local 4g's

Just waiting on the final word and then I can make it official and start look for a house. Wife will have a baby in May so it's gotta be a 3bdr. Anyway, Keeping my fingers crossed. I grew up on the NE side and will probably go towards that area. Where are you all located?

Im on the NW side, near 410 and Bandera. Cracker lives out in the 1604/Potranco area. You should have no problems finding a house at a good price, housing market has finally started to slow here a bit so you'll have a nice selection. Prices in and around Fort Sam are starting to rise a bit due to a lot of new development in the area, so a bit farther out on the NE side would be your best bet. If you have any more questions about the area let me know

Yeah, but I want to be within 10-15 minutes of Fort Sam. I know how I-35 can get in the mornings, epsecially after the 410 interchange. I know I will find a nice place....it helps that I am from there. I know where all the good breakfast taco places are!!! God, you all seriously don't understand, at my last 2 duty stations most people looked at me like I had a dick growing from my forehead when I asked where to buy breakfast tacos. I miss them so much. And you can forget buying chorizo, epecially here in Germany.

Well, we like to have a guest room. But I would like a den or something but I usually just make the garage my hide out.

they have actually done some pretty major freeway work on that side of town, they are redoing the 410/35 interchange so traffic should get a lot better soon. 410 is 10 lanes now from 35 all the way to Bandera, so northside traffic is awesome now!

Sounds like the area between 410 and 1604 around Nacogdoches/Perrin Beitel/Wurzbach parkway would be ideal to keep you close to ft sam. Lots of houses in that area in the 100-130k range you looking to rent or buy. if looking to rent i would check out bradfieldproperties.com.....really good listing of rental properties in town
