Wingo's Tuning/Reflash Support for the 4G GT & GS!

Well boys and girls, I have had some fun making the best 4Gs out there, but unfortunately, I have received dozens of emails and messages for tuning with only 1 person actually pay for my services.

I have successfully made some of the highest horsepower 4Gs out there, and for that I am proud.

6 (2 Automatic, 4 Manual) Naturally aspirated GT's. 1 Nitrous GT (when we meet up again). 1 Turbo GS Manual (5 psi). 1 Nitrous GS Manual that switched to Supercharger (12 psi), and 1 Supercharged GT Auto (4-5 psi).

For now, I am done offering my services to this community unless I REALLY REALLY like the person requesting my services. I am tired of dealing with all of the questions and getting none of the work in return for my time. This community would rather there be a monopoly in place for their tuning services, so you guys can all have 1 option now. This is why this community has no support, because even when you are presented with VALID and QUALITY parts or services, you guys cry about price but go and pay double for a part that is meant for performance that you use for visual and have NO idea how to use them properly. ($350 for my tune vs. $750-$1,200 for coilovers)

Good luck!

Hey, this is great news!

Other than the Hackish tunes, there aren't many (any) other options out there. As I have a couple of mods (intake and exhaust, but no headers), this is definitely something I'd be interested in doing before summer arrives, especially since I'm only an hour away from you. Sadly, in my case I'm going to have to add several hundreds of dollars to the price, since my laptop died, so it's going to have to wait for now.

Since I am pulling away from tuning this platform after the current customer list is completed, I will toss my support behind Brandon. The system he is using is proper and is designed better than any other tuning system out there. I can say this as it is the same system I have been using for a long time. Very rare is there an issue and if one arises the solution is quick and easy.

What kinda dyno numbers can we expect from a fully bolted 3.8 running your tune?

That's an 80+ whp boost over stock, and the car is still NA. I take it from that you know what you're doing. Good stuff.

Since you know the software, I have a question for you. Does the vehicle have a DFCO (deceleration fuel cut-off) mode for cars equipped with the manual transmission, particularly for the V6? I'd like to know because I like to downshift and engine brake, but also like stretching my MPG when I can. Thanks.

Columbus isn't far from me. I'd be down to go to your dyno day in April. I'm currently tuned by Hackish but I'd be curious to see the results of your work!

Who knows? I might even switch since you could fine tune my 4G in person

Brandon offer a special price/deal for those tuned by the Hack you may be surprised in the response. 6 of my last 8 customers are all former uvtune/fastworks. There is a difference in the over all tuning. Its not so much the alteration of the maps but the definitions and the flash software. MMCFLASH works perfectly as does ecuflash (editing ONLY) combine that with someone Like Merlin, Acamus, Tephra and Mr. Fred (all mitsu rom dissemblers considered the best with Mitsu) and the competition does not stand a chance.

I can vouch for Brandon/Wingo too.

Hes a great member and has sold lots of stuff here before.

I've even bought stuff from him before with no problems. : )
(for those that dont know, hes one of the ones to do part-outs of 4g's. Hes sold tons of parts here and has helped a bunch of us out.)

Way to go Brandon! Thanks for offering this to the club. Best of luck! = D

Interesting question, Jane. I'm pretty sure the 4G cuts quite a bit of fuel on the in those situations (although wingo would know better having seen the code), since almost every modern FI car does.

But since the 4G GT will never be a Prius, I'd be interested in just the opposite--increasing fueling on a closed throttle will often give you that nice burbling/crackling sound on the overrun (like a Jag F-type or 500 Abarth, for example, which are deliberately mapped for this). It might be something to only do above, say 3000 RPM (or even 4000, up in the MIVEC zone), but I'd be interested in exploring this. I'd be less concerned about the incremental fuel usage than I would about the potential for clogging/ruining the precats (no headers on my car), but I really like the mean, aggressive and raw sound that cars tuned to run a little rich on the overrun make.

EDIT: Here's a document going into some detail about what I'm talking about, but for Harleys, and mostly discussing how to change fuel mapping to decrease crackling on a closed throttle.

Hey man, do you think you could do a turbo tune on my gs with low impedance injectors? I have a custom resistor box...just wondering how practical this would be. Or should I sell the set up and get saturated injectors...

I'd rather do the engine swap. My ultimate goal is 6g75 rear mount turbo. But if I can't get anyone to purchase what I have then I won't be able to afford it. So we shall see. I'm kind of an indecisive dreamer...Also knowing I have a tuner so close kind of changed my perspective on what I currently have. And I figure, despite the high mileage 4-5 psi should be safe for the motor.

Wish I saw this earlier. Just based off of OBD2 tools of sorts that I plug in, I want to say yes. My MPG goes to infinity when I let off the gas. Going at 120km/h in neutral it reads around 300mpg hahaha. Idle requires fuel, engine being forced to turn does not

That was as read by a turbogauge 3 (great product for fuel economy readings, not so good for surviving a Canadian winter)

I am a happy customer of Wingo. Car is sitting in his driveway as I type. He's currently tuning my sc 4g69. He even put together my intake for me. (Quality work) invest your tuning experience here.

FullMonte is on a distinguished road
Email sent. I'm going to need a base tune for a Montero ECU with a 6g75 Mivec swap. Nothing special other than the motor. The only mod is a K&N filter, no CAI, no headers, stock 2 1/4" exhaust w'high flow CAT. Just want to get on your list soon. My motor swap starts tomorrow.
