CiNcityDesigns.com custom headlights

Hello guys, my name is Nic and I run a custom lighting business that is most commonly known for headlight mods for the Nissan 350z and most recently, the Infinity G35. After doing some custom work for a member here (I think he's a mod actually?), he recommended that I come here and check the site out and see if anyone would have interest in what I do. The website is www.CiNcitydesigns.com Here you will find a gallery with pictures/videos/and customer cars. But, there are far more pictures and recent updates in the forums on that site. We create new mods every day and share ideas with the members there daily.

Something that is asked pretty often, "Is that street legal?". Most of it is, some isn't. This is why I often do multi color mods for people. For example, my sponsor Z on the front page of my site has a bi R8 mod. Meaning that he can drive with a white R8 and be legal all day. Then when he parks or is at a show or meet, he can change it to blue with the flip of a switch. This is generally the case with everything I do in color. I should also mention that non of these mods affect your lighting with out making it actually better. The "demon eye" mod has nothing to do with your OEM lighting for example. Just makes your projector glass shine what ever color you want when you have it turned on.

Here are some quick photos that will show a few things i've done. Many more pics can be found on my website. Hope to do some work with your guys soon! Thanks.

Nic

Hey thanks! After I posted this up last night, It left me thinking that there might not be the same interest for the Eclipse guys as the Z community. Can you lead me to a link that I can pick up a set of projection headlights for moding? Or if there is no such thing on the market, I can just fabricate a set and go from there. I generally use bi-xenon projectors when the light itself has space for one. That, or i'll wait for someone to decide to ship a set out to me.

Looks good! I'd have to see a set on the Eclipse before I make a final determination though. I think you would have a good market with the 4G community.

Some of you guys may know me from Club3G; well Nic just finished doing a pair of '06 bi-xenons for my Z. He painted them satin black and changed the Fresnel lens (frosted) to the Subaru STi clear lens, giving it a very intense color line.

I only have one picture handy but this top picture is my car with the OEM 03-05 HID, and below is a really crappy camera phone picture with my 06-08 swap.

Stock.

CinCity's work.

Having kept up with CinCity's work over the past while, and now being a customer and seeing what they can do; I feel that I can comfortably say that anything you can think of that can be done with a headlight they can do.

I'll take some of the red demon-eyes! They look great...We've already got some of the black projectors so I think they'd be an awesome addition to the car.

Taken from My350Z; this is also the type of thing that CinCity is capable of doing, so if not necessarily a headlight thing you are looking for there are all kinds of lighting applications I am sure they can do.

Looking at these pictures of EGT lights it looks like they are standard halogens with a monocle at the front of the housing.

Hey guys, haven't been able to get online much today. Looks like there is a fair amount of interest, so maybe i'll just pick up a set of lights and try out a few things to post pics for you guys. Just an FYI though, its more than likely cheaper to buy aftermarket lights with projectors already in them than to have me retrofit your halogen's with a bi-xenon or something. The projectors alone aren't cheap and it takes a good amount of R&D to create a functional adjustable HID projection light. Still, it can be done, but with the extra cost you'd save, you can put that towards the R8 mod or "demon eyes" or what have you.
I have a couple people who seem interested and if they don't send their lights in, I'll just buy a set to show you guys what some of things will look like. If it's anything like the Z, you'll get people breaking their necks trying to figure out what just drove by! AHAHAHA

Just bumping some new pictures:

Stupid thumbnails since the new theme cuts all the pictures in half........

Hey, thanks for the help! I just had someone order up as set of my color shifting mods just a few days ago. I should have took some video of the color shifting halo I made for a G37 set. People went nuts over it! Probably not as much as the R8 mod, but it was still pretty cool to see all the people posing in front of these lights for pictures. I'm still not sure why they would do that, but cool either way.

I'm not really sure what you're asking about here? Do you have projectors by chance? If you can get a close up of your lights or if you can see that your projector lenses are really diffused (looks like ripples), then I can upgrade them for you to the JDM STi replica clear lenses that I do for Z's and G's. Makes your HID's looks AMAZING! I did it for Sam. I have some pictures of what the cut off looks like with the new lens, but maybe sam can post some pictures of what his own lights look like turned on at night. 4300K HID with these lenses is all you need.

If your asking about the "demon eye" mod (projectors light up a solid color of your choice or shift through the color spectrum), that has nothing to do with your OEM lighting. This is totally separate and unrelated. Your factory lighting will work just like it did before. You will have the ability to turn if off for legal reasons or leave it on. Your choice. With or without your headlights on as well (I recommend off though)

Thanks for the link! $269 for those?! That is probably one of the cheapest sets of lights i've ever seen. I wonder what the quality is? I assume that doesn't have HID (I didn't think to look) for that price. I'm used to dealing with lights that cost well over $1000, so this is really encouraging. They look like they'd take a demon eye and R8 mod pretty easily too. I'll probably order a set and tinker around with them next week. Thanks again!

Quality sucks... The halos burnt out on both sets I bought... and each time I bought a set one of my bulbs was like tilted down so it sucked driving at night cuz I could barely see anything! Im assuming you could make them bad ass tho!

Absolutely! I can replace the crap halo with a better version that's very bright and rated at over 100,000 hours of continuous use. Also, because there are already projectors in there, I can possibly swap out what's there and replace it with a bi xenon projector so long as I can get the mounts to fit. That's biggest problem with any retrofit. I just need to find a set of these lights for testing. I'll have to search ebay for a broken set or something?

Then you can use OEM HID from Nissan (I LOVE using these) and an STi clear lens upgrade and have one bad ass set of lights!

Sam has a spectacular aura about
This is the STi lens swap that Nic did for me. The bulb temp is OEM 4300k, nothing higher is needed, the cutoff with the new lens is ridiculous, very clean and crisp. That color blue/purple you see is the flicker that you see on BMWs and Porsches, etc.

For some reason a lot of people have the misconception that higher temps equal better vision, well no, all the higher temps do is reduce the light output, but the bulb color is more towards the blue-purple side (meaning you see less).

OEM 4300k is the closest to sunlight which is what HIDs are trying to mimic, anything more is horrible so if you want a color you have to use a projector setup with a clear lens, and not the temp of the bulb to rely on.

Fantastic pics Sam. If you don't mind copy and pasting in the forums on my site, i'd appreciate it. Or if you're too busy, I can do it. The only real cut off pics I have is just me holding a projector down my hallway. Which is good enough, but doesn't show the wide angle like you have. Again, thanks!!

^^ I'm willing to work you a deal no problem. Are they the same as what's been linked here? A complete set of lights, not JUST projectors correct?

Ya I have the aftermarket projectors not the stock ones. They have some issues with it like the clear coat is peeling and one of the lights sealant is starting to open, that is why I'm willing to loan it cause the quality on them are not that great. Also the damn halos keep going out and is a giant beezy trying to replace, knowing they are just going to go out in a month haha. Ill get some pics up

Well, if they're already messed up, I can't promise you that they wont have problems when they come back. I have a pretty good method of repairing lights tho and believe me, I doubt they're in as bad as shape as some of the other lights i've repaired!! Think hardware store sealant, nails, and plasty dip and you STILL would be one better than some i've had to mess with.
Anyway, my shipping address is on the contacts page of my website. Lets get those bad boys shipped over here and i'll fix em up for ya. I'll set you up for a nice price too so that I can start showing some work related to these boards. PM me.

There is the peeling

and on the driver side the whole unit seems like it warpped. I couldn't even get it to shut anymore so I just sealed it so it doesn't get moisture in it. I will pm on shipping these bad boys to you
