I can delete them, but I like to keep them around for price references, if Russ wants some clean up we can start deleting them though.

It's hard to determine which ones need to be closed or not. I mean, if the item is sold, I would imagine someone would have posted that so the thread could either be closed or people realize that it's not for sale anymore.

YEah but comon, there threads with only 1 entry, most of the time the guy selling or buying, no one has reply to it, and they are from 2007. Is obvious those can be deleted or archive.

If someone only has one post saying an item is for sale, or they want to buy something, then we can only assume that they still have it for sale, or want to buy it.
We could run though and delete all the old ones that doesn't follow the rules. I've been thinking about doing that, but as Nick has said, it is a good price check. But when someone bumps them, I delete them.

i suggest that if the thread is more than six months old then delete it. obviously, with exceptions. example:e4e. for sale threads such as his should remain open because he is a vendor/fabricator. just my 2 cents.

I can set the whole forum to automatically hide threads older than (x) time. I don't want to run the mods ragged trying to maintain the for sale section. From my point of view, what difference does it matter if a FS thread is a certain amount of age. It's not like people blindly send payments for things without making contact with the buyer to insure they are still selling the product.
Eventually, I was hoping one day that the For Sale forum would become popular enough I could implement vbClassified: vBClassified - vBClassified
