On Galant Forums back in the day you had to have 50 post vefore you could sell stuff. Helped keep the spammers away, can we impliment this? I'm tired of seeing 8 different ** 32G I-pud touch $5**

Very true! lots of forums do this. It will be up to Russ, but I don't think it is a bad idea.

FYI I'm tired of deleting all the spam... and I'm sure AC and Jrod is as well!

I think its a good idea EVOM has the 50 post rule as well

My only thing is that the spam is never posted in the for sale section. they do it in random spots like off topic, Puerto Rico, new members forum... or whatever they choose. so itll be hurtin the regular members more than the spam guys..

Like DGM said spam is not just limited to the For Sale section. Essentially, we would be putting a restriction on people starting new threads until a certain amount of posts are met. We've implemented this before and I just get overrun with idiots PM'g or spamming our moderators asking why they cannot start a new thread. The spam problem is not that bad here, and we have enough moderators (now super-moderaters) to handle things.

well what im saying is... in those for sale threads... they use tons and tons and tons of text.... so is there a way to limit the amount they can post? or would that just lead to them just making links?

It seems like spam comes in threes. If you find one you will most likely find two more. So what if we had it where you HAVE to post in the new forum members thread at least 5 times before you can post else where. That way the spam would only be limited to that area and easier to find.

Or, I also like the text limit for the first few post. Maybe say the first 5 post have a limit on the text then you can type as much as you would like. I doubt any new member would even realize we have a limit on text for the first few post.
