Hey Russ...can you PLEASE link the "Forum" button to the proper URL...

Here's the deal, I always come to the home page first to see what's going on...but the "Forum" button in the top left of the home page doesn't work...it takes you to http://www.club4g.org/board however, that page is invalid.

In order to get to the page that works, I have to pick a link from the "recent threads" column, and go to that discussion, then I can click on "Forum" from there and it takes me to http://club4g.org/board which works just fine...

Seems like just the link on the homepage goes to www.club4g.org/board, it's the only one I found that doesn't work...but it's the one I use the most!!!

LOL okay man I'll see what I can do to fix it, I may just eliminate it all together since the front page is a totally different module.

Ok...I think I see what's happening here...there are two different homepages...one is www.club4g.org, and one is club4g.org...

If you go to the www.club4g.org, then the "forum" link points to www.club4g.org/board which doesn't work...

BUT, if you go to club4g.org, there the "forum" link points to club4g.org/board which does work...

gah, this is still happening and it's driving me nuts too.

Basically www.club4g.org is a completely seperate site from club4g.org. It's causing cookie issues and multiple login problems.

Something must be different. Maybe it's the way different browsers handle cookies for the two similar sites. I know Firefox falls flat on it's face for me.

You need to forward all traffic from www.club4g.org to club4g.org

It's a server issue, not the site.

I primarily use Firefox as well, and that maybe the problem. I'll keep working on it. With the server it can totally remove the "www" all together and that could create some problems as well.

Still getting a permission denied error when I go to http://club4g.org

edit: ah, i tested it in IE and I don't get the permission error all the time but still get some random cookie errors around the front page. Shows up in Firefox 2.0 and 3beta too. Looks like it has something to do with index.php. Doesn't vBadvanced have a built-in diagnostic function for these kind of issues? I see you have it installed.

Still getting it. I can reproduce it consistantly in Firefox 1.5, 2.0 and at least a couple builds of 3beta.

If your logged out everything is perfect, but if you login at http:/club4g.org it'll give you a permission denied message after the login redirect page. Right now I have no way to get to the Car of the Month/Front page without logging out. I've cleared cache and cookies.

I can't be the only one having this issue. I've reproduced it on at least 4 different computers all using different versions of firefox.

edit: hmm... I seem to be able to make it happen in IE6 too

that actually looks like more of an issue with your account configuration than the server/board code. not sure how though.....
try creating a new dummy account and see if you have the same problems.

I see what's going on here. This is specific to your account because you are in a special "Non Off Topic" group and I think the permissions of that group don't allow you to see the front page.

I'll fix it right now, let me know if you still have problems.
