Well... found a bug.

Link doesn't work in the main site page. It works from within Forums, but not in main.

Also, while you're developing several other pieces, the chat room "page" could use some filling up... say, with widgets.

I have to say, I like what Manny's started doing with his site. A calendar and sticky panels for photo album. I'm thinking if we're going to revive/revise the vbGarage, this might be the place to do just that.

Widgets are good

And these are great improvements, Russ! :twothumbs:

Very cool! What's the difference? What's in this release that wasn't in .7?

I noticed the chat module is pretty robust in and of itself. Just wondering if any modifications or additional config can be made to it to make it more usable?

Say, the following:

Font bar - can users have custom text fonts other than what's general? (don't know if addonChat has this feature) --- "Markup" ?
Extended toolbar functions - avatars, [b][[u][i],
Where can we get more emoticons/audicons?
someone (meDave) also mentioned that copying text onto the chat bar doesn't seem to work. Works fine for me

1. We have the professional version see the features here: Java Chat Software - AddonChat Features
2. Avatars cost an extra $3.50 a month
3. We can add more emotes in like from our smiles repository.
4. Works fine for me too.

I have an IRC server that I created just for Club4g that doesn't cost anyone any money (except for the money I already pay to the NAC colo to host my server), if anyone is interested in using that.. I have a web interface configured using mibbit (irc.fuhell.com in your web browser) also.

you can get a wireless usb card from a cell carrier and use a cell signal, plans are usually pretty expensive though. I'm thinking about seeing if xanadoo would work.

It doesn't work for me at work either. The port that it uses is pretty high and typically corporate firewalls don't allow that kind of traffic to pass.

Todays one of those chat meets, and its only been 2 weeks or so since the new chat is up and it's already dead

It might be due to an excessive amount of meets through the week. Perhaps one night a week would be better.

I also stopped renewing the paid features that automatically authenticates people into the room. So now it's in free mode. Eventually if it remains unused, I will just remove it.
