Mobile Forums
I was at the Sprint Store today on a Blackberry and the forums didn't look too good on the mobile. What are you supposed to do to get it working right? Is it supposed to have the skin on the phone?

The forums looked nothing like that on Blackberry's Browser. It was a white background and the links were just all jumbled up all over the place. There must be different browsers for Blackberries :/

No, that's on a Samsung Omnia. And this is on Opera Mobile.

That's the mobile skin that I have setup. Yes it looks bland but it's quite functional. I use it all the time.

No, it's not that. The site detects the typical mobile web browser, and the default skin for any mobile connection is going to be the "mobi" skin that Russ is talking about.
A browser like Opera (standard on the Omnia btw ) has a feature to let you identify as a desktop machine. Hence the standard "dark" skin output. Plus the browser has a neato macro view that works flawlessly with the touchscreen scroll.I personally don't prefer mobi, or any mobile format, over standard. So I have it displaying websites as it would my desktop. Google, Yahoo, etc.

Edit: Problem Solved
http://www.opera.com/mini/download/b...ry_8300_curve/I have a question about the Blackberry. The ones I used at the store had crappy scroll balls. Are they supposed to scroll freely or have some kind of control like a D-Pad on a controller. I can't really explain it.... Last edited by 4gAddict; April 11th, 2009 at 08:13 PM. |
