You don't want to ever leave a nail in a tire...it can wallow around and cut a steel belt and then you'll feel like you are driving on a square tire and it will have to be replaced.

Way to discourage newbies from asking questions around here. It's a totally legitimate question. If it's not leaking air, how am I supposed to know if it will cause long term damage or if it even matters?

I'll take it to an autoshop to get it repaired. Thanks to those who were helpful.

Yeah, obviously a joke, but you're still a dick. Doesn't bother me, but it just reminds me of how the internet is where people can make fun of "newbs" for not being as knowledgeable as them.

Do they still offer drivers ed? This has nothing to do with the internet, what about leaving a nail in your tire seemed like a good idea?

Yes it does. A lot of people in real life weren't sure and many even said if it doesn't leak air, it shouldn't matter. You guys were the only ones who made a joke about the question.

I never said it was a good idea. Maybe you should post in a reading comprehension messageboard so you can start learning about reading comprehension.

I agree that everyone here shouldn't of made fun of your question, it was a good question for someone that didn't know the answer... FYI everyone, not everybody in the world knows the simple things, why bash when you can help.

But, I think you have your answer now, so be the bigger man and just let it rest instead of adding fuel to the fire, this thread could get out of hand real fast doing that.

when i first started getting into cars i had a nail in my tire and i didnt know if i should have taken it out or not... i needed new tires at the time so i just replaced them, but had i not needed tires... i prolly would have asked the same question.

MitsuFootDr will become famous soon enough
Whatever you do, don't use that "fix-a-leak" spray crap that you can get at autozone. Go to a tire place and have them put a patch on the inside of the tire and your problem will be solved. It's an inexpensive solution that will completely fix your tire. And no, never leave a nail/screw in your tire, you'll just be asking for bigger problems down the road.

well i wasnt trying to be rude, or a "dick". i just noticed you joined in 2007, albeit not an active member, but surely you've done some lurking... i have to agree with chaos' logic, "what about leaving a nail in your tire seemed like a good idea?" I understand you didnt say it was a "good idea" but obviously you know now it is not.

We never discourage noobs from asking questions, I hope your able to change that impression you have given to this site. please make note that this is the internet, it has all types of people on it. people may joke about your questions, but its all apart of the transition and i trust you have the ability to make it through. I hope you do, but if you cant, perhaps an internet forum isnt right for you.

While you didn't actually say those words, it was inferred from the statement that you were unsure that it needed removed. Which means deep down somthing told you it might be ok. Maybe you should post on a reading context message board so you don't allude to things you don't mean. Let me say it like this if there was a nail stuck into your foot say, but no blood was leaking out would you leave it?

See how it works out? You say this as if there's some consequence to challenging you. LOL I can't breathe. Look guys - some guy who's made 4,300 posts on an internet messageboard is threatening me! LMAO!

The rest of your post makes absolutely no sense. Why are you comparing a tire with a foot? Maybe you need to spend less time on the internet.

Transition? LOL transition for what?

I only post here to get some advice. I have enough friends in real life LOL.
well... i thought you were educated enough to figure it out.

you are bitching about being a noob and having to ask noob questions, the comments you are receiving are normal for noobs like yourself, get over it grow up and get some thicker skin...if not get out. better? understand now?

also are you implying that people on this site have no friends? your not helping your cause with those implications. a lot of us know each other personally... in case you cant figure that out, that means "in real life." also ive found that its usually kids that try to use the "you have no friends" line when communicating on the internet. when your older, and have a professional job, youll understand lol

If your here for advice why are you starting shit with members? people like you make this forum bad place, why dont you just try putting your thick skin on? if something someone says offends you, just ignore it. i mean seriously, you're acting like you're 16 years old.

So the backpedaling begins!

I already got plenty of help and found several places that will patch my tire for free. Me pissing people off? LOL why don't re-read this thread and see who wanted to be a dick first.

It's simple:

1. Most of the members here ARE 16 year old so I have to speak their language.
2. I already got the help in this thread, but since some people want to have some fun, let's tango.

Come on, man. Even 16 year olds can come up with something better than this. Trust me - I have a thick skin. This is fun and amusing now.

Making fun of my question is not extending a hand. Go learn some manners before pretending that you have some.

You talk about having a thick skin - well, how about YOU grow some thick skin? LOL nice double-standard there, buddy!

So let me get this straight - it's not okay for me to criticize you but it's okay for you to criticize me? LOL!

I don't care how well you guys know each other or how many posts you have - double standards are double standards, and if you can't handle the heat, get out of the kitchen (a.k.a. this thread)!

And for crying out loud, stop being so melodramatic with the whole "it's guys like you that bring this place down" shtick. If you don't like newbies who can speak up, then don't unnecessarily provoke them. You talk shit, so expect the same back. Don't pretend to be all surprised when a newbie speaks up LOL.
