GS Stiffy :naughty:

If any of you have ever had someone rev your engine for you while peering into your engine bay, you know the 4G69 has some serious engine movement issues to address. After reading post after post of how much the GT guys looooved their stiffies I decided to see if I could retrofit one to my GS.

Using the original mount as a guide, I created a template and took it to a local machine shop. I gotta say this is a great mod for the $, super easy install too. I still have the template if anybody want's to follow suit.

**UPDATE**
I have attached the template to the thread as a zip file. Instructions below:

When printing do not adjust print area.
Print on letter sized paper.
Transfer template to cardboard and test fit.
Make sure your machinist uses at least 1/8” thick steel.
If your machinist doesn’t have the ability to bend steel make sure they grind their welds down smooth.
If additional information is needed contact me at bejayve@gmail.com

I purchased the gt poly mounts from energy and they seemed a little too fat to fit so now they're just sitting in the garage. If you can verify they fit, I'll go through the trouble of putting them on as well.

To everyone showing interest, I will send you the template via email tomorrow morning. Just PM me you email address.

Where did you order them from? Energy Suspension list them as for the GT only on their site. I ordered them anyway. I'll attempt to do the install over the weekend and post results.

it wont give you more power but it allows more power to get to the ground by stopping the rocking motion which wastes energy

Have them put in when you get your headers replaced and it is alot easier. Overall I think they cost around 100

No offense bro but I really dont want to go through all of that. I'm more than willing to help through the forum but the last thing I want to do is be responsible for someone else's money/product.

Just take the template to any machine shop and get thier take on it. With the right tools the mount should be cake to fab.

well that's cool to know , so the lancers 02-06 have the same motor mounts as the 06+ eclipses, and therefore the same as the evo 8-9 , I wonder how many more they are compatible with...

also you guys can make your own solid motor mounts f&r for about 40 bucks with flexane
